New Tech Studios, our digital media elective class has been hard at work producing a news show for the community.  They wanted to put out stories of BNT learning, culture, and events.  This is the first episode that they created.  All of the production, recording, and editing was done by students.  The Belleville New Tech YouTube is designed to be a channel to be administrated by students and contain student work.  Check out the show, and leave some feedback for our students.  Don’t forget to subscribe to the channel as well.  Thanks!

Welcome to the 2013 NTN Video Challenge!

The New Tech Video Challenge is all about giving YOU – the student – a creative opportunity to explore the theme of the New Tech Annual Conference.  This year’s conference theme is “Building Bridges”.  We want you to show us what bridges you have been building.

The challenge is open from March 14 through April 18. Winners will be flown to the New Tech Annual Conference in New Orleans over the summer to present to an audience of over 1000 attendees.*

Read over the other pages and documents in this site for more details.  We look forward to seeing your masterpieces!

BNT sophomores in Politics and Literature have been working hard on a project called My Party 12.  The project is designed to let students create their own political party, platform, and campaign in order to compete against the entire New Tech Network.  Students investigated issues and created campaign commercials to advertise their campaign plans.  All BNT students showcased their commercials in the mini Auditorium on October 17th.

BNT students selected the Popular Party as the representative for our school to compete against the rest of the network.  The Popular Party consists of James Hogg, Kym Leggett, Abbey Bentley, and Victoria Perkins.

After two weeks of hard politicking from all of our Belleville New Tech students, the top 5 parties from across the New Tech Network were announced yesterday.

The Popular Party made the TOP 5!!!!!!!!!

•    The Open Arms Party Eagle Tech Academy, Columbia City, IN
•    The Perseverance Party Sioux Falls New Tech High, Sioux Falls, SD
•    The Popular Party Belleville New Tech High School, Belleville, MI
•    The Aequus Party New Tech Institute, Evansville, IN
•    Team Infinite Warren New Tech High, Warrenton, NC

BNT erupted in applause, cheers, and smiles when the top 5 were announced!  It was an amazing moment to be a part of.

The Top 5 playlist is here.

NTN message:

These student candidates will debate on Nov. 2nd at noon EST.
Network Election Day will be Monday , November 5th!

Students will be tweeting @BarackObama and @MittRomney using the #MYParty12 hashtag
  • Students will be asking questions about the candidate’s platforms and tweeting their own concerns/ideas.
  • Can we get this hashtag to trend?
  • Will we get a reply from either candidate?
  • The more students tweeting the more likely either could happen!

Students in Ms. Sprague and Mr. Darket’s Politics and Literature class recently wrapped up their first network wide project, called “My Party 12″. Students formed their own political parties, wrote a party platform, and campaigned in a 30 second commercial. During school, the parties presented their campaign commercials to the class and students were able to vote on the one that would represent BNT in the national network wide debate and election. There were many standout videos, but students selected two from each block and did a whole class vote today.

We’d like to congratulate all who participated!

Our representative for BNT is the Popular Party! This party was James H, Abbey B, Victoria P, & Kym L.

A couple of weeks ago, Cynthia came up with the idea of having a musicians club in New Tech. I was ecstatic about facilitating the group, with the idea that they would lead everything. She presented it to her peers and gathered a membership of 12 students already. They are writing their own music and put this together today.
