Sophomores in EconLit launched the final project of the year today. The project focuses on creating a business plan for Downtown Belleville. Since downtown currently has multiple vacant properties on Main Street, Carol Thompson and the Belleville Downtown Development Authority are hoping to attract businesses to these spaces that will make downtown more inviting for youth. They have asked our students to come up with suggestions of youth-friendly business that could fill these spaces and to provide a rationale for their choices. Students must demonstrate how their suggestions will enhance the quality of downtown for all, bring more consumers to the area, and be profitable for the businesses.
Driving Question: How do we as New Tech students create a business plan for a potential business that will move into downtown Belleville so that the area becomes more youth-friendly and attracts more consumers to the area?
We are looking for family and community members to attend our 2nd annual Cancer Awareness Day in the media center. 2nd and 3rd hr biology students will present from 9:30-10:30am and 4th and 5th hr students will present from 12-1pm.
